Miteigentümer des Bankhauses Moilliet, Smith and Pearson war der Genfer Bankier und Importeur/Exporteur Jean-Louis Moilliet. Später waren auch seine Söhne James und Theodore Mitinhaber, weshalb es in «John Lewis and Sons» unbenannt wurde. Die Bank wurde 1866 von der heute noch bestehenden Lloyds Bank aufgekauft
