Bayerischer Löwe von Miller

Bronzestatue eines der vier Löwen des Kupferfigurenensembles auf dem Siegestor in München.

Die Statue wurde von Ferdinand von Miller (1813–1887) aus München hergestellt und war 15 Fuss lang und 9 Fuss hoch. Bei seinem Besuch der Londoner Weltausstellung sah Johann Conrad Fischer die Statue, welche dort ausgestellt wurde, bevor man sie auf dem Tor montierte.

Bavarian lion by Miller

A bronze statue representing one of the four lions from the lion quadriga on the Victory Gate in Munich.

The statue was produced by Ferdinand von Miller (1813–1887) from Munich and was 15 feet long and 9 feet high. When visiting the Great Exhibition in London, Johann Conrad Fischer saw the statue before it was mounted on the Gate.
