A telescope designed for the safe observation of the sun, in particular sunspots. Related to Cuff’s ‘solar microscope’. These instruments were produced by John Cuff in London and were very much in demand. During his stay in Stockholm, while visiting Carl Johann Friedrich Plagemann, Johann Conrad Fischer observed the sunspots through a telescope made by Cuff. |
