Früher war der Fuss (auch Schuh genannt) ein in vielen Teilen der Welt verwendetes Längenmass, das je nach Land meist 28 bis 32 Zentimeter, in Extremfällen auch 25 und 34 Zentimeter mass. Der englische Fuss (ft.) ist heute das einzige noch verwendete Fussmass und beträgt 30,48 Zentimeter. Es wird mit dem Zeichen « ′ » abgekürzt.
