Tragbare Dampfmaschine

Kleine, leichte und daher portable Dampfmaschine, die ab etwa 1800 von Matthew Murray, Richard Trevithick und anderen Ingenieuren entwickelt wurde.

Die ersten Dampfmaschinen von Newcomen und Watt waren insbesondere wegen ihrer massiven Balanciers raumfüllende Maschinen und konnten schwer auf- und abgebaut werden.

The first steam engines as developed by Newcomen and Watt had massive beams that took up a great deal of space and were difficult to assemble and disassemble.
